As I walked the show floor at Mandalay Bay this year, everything (and I mean everything) was lit up. Almost every exhibit featured some type of back-lighting. I was amazed by the advanced AV displays, the creative uses of directional lighting and I even saw new flooring that was lit up from beneath.
While I continue to travel the country visiting our distributors, I’m seeing lighting featured in many new and creative ways, which is a true reflection of where technology and cost-effective LED’s are taking our industry. EcoSystems has been on the LED train for years given their “green” nature. They are safe, long lasting and provide for any color profile and creative option that you can dream up. The cost associated with LEDs has dropped drastically over the past few years and that trend will only continue, which will open up new and exciting lighting options for exhibit designers across the globe.
The double entendre here is that I got the sense that the industry as a whole is growing in our collective intelligence.
And fast...
I saw a lot of "bright" young new-hires this year that seemed genuinely eager to learn. We had several inquisitive and professional Bemidji State University design students stop by the booth. Both of these demographics (students and young hires) indicated to me that a growing economy is contributing to more entry-level jobs in the trade show industry and that employers are open to their fresh perspectives.
Over the course of three days working our booth, our 10x20 space was never empty. Having Lisa Koskela & Lauren Orao present was a real treat for many of our distributors and new prospects alike. I’m happy that they were able to answer detailed design questions, see what other manufacturers are doing and put faces to their names, as so many of our distributors enjoy.
In case you are unfamiliar with EcoSystems, Lisa & Lauren make up our amazing design team. They are the cutting edge of the exhibit industry and their revolutionary exhibit designs push the limits of what we are able to do with our materials and systems.
Speaking of our materials, our sister company Classic Exhibits released “gravitee” at ExhibitorLIVE. gravitee is a brand new one-step modular system with some amazing capabilities.
For more information check out this demonstration video:
The cool thing about gravitee is that it was born from Classic's 23 years of experience and innovation in toolless construction and fabrication. gravitee is no doubt the result of the many years and subsequent systems that Classic has engineered.
The good news for us here at EcoSystems, is that (as with most new products that Classic engineers) EcoSystems can integrate gravitee into existing and future designs, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team for more information.
So to bring it all full circle, as the sun set on yet another ExhibitorLIVE show, I couldn’t help but notice the lights coming on.
And I’m not talking about the Vegas strip.
Whether it was innovative new products like gravitee, the LEDs everywhere, or the bright young minds that will lead our industry into the future; one thing is certain… That future is bright.
